Concerto Competition Winners Concert
One of the most rewarding nights of the FSO season. Each year, young musicians from across the Interior compete for the chance to step out in front of a full orchestra. Tonight the winners do exactly that — and if past years are any guide, you’ll leave wondering how someone that young plays that well. The evening opens with Schubert’s Rosamunde Overture, a sweeping curtain-raiser written for a play that flopped and left behind some of the most enduring music of the era. Soloists and repertoire will be announced once the competition concludes. Come hear the next generation.
